Let’s Party! The Nook’s MARVELous 9th Anniversary Celebration

A 9th anniversary for The Nook? How MARVELous! Join fellow Nooksters March 23-25 for The Nook’s MARVELous 9th Anniversary weekend filled with celebratory events and specials. The fun-filled weekend will feature surprise giveaways, a variety of food and drink specials including $5 Nookster’s drafts, $3 Smirnoff Vodka cocktails, $20 mystery buckets of beer and select $1 Nook shots.

The fun begins with Fishbowl Friday!  Friday, March 23 is The Nook's Annual Fishbowl Contest.  A new Nook Fishbowl will be added to the menu, and it could be yours.  Submit your entry to info@thenookatlanta.com by Wednesday, March 21.  Your Nook Fishbowl recipe must include unflavored, orange, pineapple, apple or peach-flavored vodka. Nook's team of judges will pick the winner on March 23 at 8 p.m.  The winner will get his or her fishbowl and name on the menu and will walk away with a $50 Nook gift card.

Saturday, March 24 brings Totcho Saturday and the  MARVELous Anniversary Costume Party. 

Do you have what it takes to be The Macho Totcho?  Email info@thenookatlanta.com by March 22 to have a shot to compete in the Macho Totcho Contest, the first six entries will be selected. Contest starts Saturday at 5 pm.  Winner gets a $50 Nook gift card, T-shirt, a photo on the Macho Totcho Wall of Fame and the title of The Macho Totcho!
All day Saturday you can enjoy The Nook's Special Totcho menu featuring favorites from the past!  Plus, The Nook is also adding a new Totcho to the menu. Sunday March 25th the Nook launches it's Sunday night feature - The Parkside Playlist.  Come sing-a-long with live music from Joe Baia.  The Parkside Playlist Anniversary Edition begins at 5 p.m. Enjoy drink specials, $5 small plates, and more giveaways!

Still Getting Its Kicks at 96, Atkins Park Va-Hi Celebrates 96th Anniversary March 14

Atkins Park Delicatessen in Virginia-Highland first opened its doors to welcome friends in 1922 (see a photo here). Almost a century later, Atkins Park Restaurant & Bar is still cruising the longevity highway, and the city’s oldest continuously licensed tavern merges into year 96 with love, levity and a number of cold beers and signature eats. Five Years for Seed Kitchen & Bar Merits Special Menu Benefitting Share Our Strength, Nov. 1-5

This week marks five years of serving East Cobb and beyond for Seed Kitchen & Bar owner and executive chef Doug Turbush -- and Turbush and his team are ecstatic to gift guests with a special three-course dinner menu available Tuesday, Nov. 1 through Saturday, Nov. 5, and gift a portion of menu proceeds to Share Our Strength. Seed’s celebratory menu, offered in addition to the regular menu, includes choices such as chicken-fried Gulf oysters with habanero aioli; beef short rib ravioli; grilled redfish with butternut squash; smoked ham hock with stewed red beans and collard greens with andouille and buttermilk slaw; and Maple Leaf Farms confit duck breast with creamed Brussels sprouts. Maple custard made with Chantilly cream and Georgia pecan biscotti and an apple bread pudding with sorghum-bourbon ice cream and caramel entice as dessert choices. Cost is $39.95 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Next door, sister restaurant Stem Wine Bar also is celebrating a birthday and hosting a sold-out wine dinner on Nov. 1 in honor of its third anniversary.

Ray’s Rio Bravo Salts Anniversary Month with Half-Price Margaritas and Mucho Menu Specials

For Ray’s Rio Bravo, a cupcake and candle don’t do justice to anniversary numero uno. Half-price house margaritas? Now you’re talking fiesta. Through August 31, Ray’s Rio Bravo guests can down 12-ounce house margaritas for $3.50 each – all day, every day. And how about some tacos to go with the toasting? Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails 9th Anniversary Rates Month of $9 Specials

Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails is taking its anniversary to the nines. The historic Crabapple restaurant is celebrating anniversary number nine with $9 specials through August 31. Toast Milton’s and its seed-to-table fare with a Blushing Belle cocktail of strawberry-infused vodka and prosecco priced at $9. Another favorite, small plates of lobster and corn fritters with Creole mustard butter sauce and basil aioli are also $9 each.

Award-Winning Author Adrian Miller Attends Bantam + Biddy Anniversary Dinner on January 11

Bantam + Biddy Crescent Avenue has been sharing the love for Southern food with Midtown for a year now. Apropos that James Beard Foundation winner, award-winning author and Southern food lover Adrian Miller is the special guest at the restaurant's especially soulful first anniversary dinner on Sunday, January 11. The evening features dishes from "Soul Food: The Surprising Story of an American Cuisine, One Plate at a Time," the 2014 James Beard Foundation Book Award for Reference and Scholarship winner, which Miller calls a "love letter to African-American cooks." Mingle and munch with Miller over passed bites of mac 'n' cheese, sweet potato greens spoon bread and Buffalo fish ribs at the 6 p.m. reception then dine on catfish curry, cornflake fried chicken with cheddar waffles and banana pudding. $60 per person with an autographed copy of the cookbook or $45 for dinner only. Article 14 Raises a Glass to Prohibition Repeal Day on December 5

Not pulling your bootleg, Prohibition was repealed on December 5, 1933, meaning after 13 years of Prohibition, Americans enjoyed the right to legally raise a glass of cheer for the holidays. The date became known as Repeal Day, a day to applaud the laws that guarantee our rights as Americans. That's reason enough for Article 14 in Midtown to offer celebratory specials on Friday, December 5, including an old-fashioned cocktail ($12), Waldorf salad ($10), and an entrée of filet en croute bouquetiere de legumes with Madeira sauce (served old school on a silver platter for $29). Marlow's Tavern Alpharetta Celebrates 10 Years

A decade has gone by since Marlow's Tavern Alpharetta opened its doors in 2004. The tavern will celebrate its 10th anniversary on November 26 with food and drink specials from 6 p.m. until closing, giveaways and live music from Ben Wade. Lee Schulman Celebrates First Anniversary as Old Vinings Inn Proprietor

Old Vinings Inn, built in the 1880s, served the village as post office, general store, a filling station and family residence before settling into its current role as a landmark restaurant. Today, proprietor Lee Schulman marks his first year of Old Vinings Inn ownership. Enthusiasm and experience in Atlanta’s restaurant scene meld like a good roux in this gent who believes he’s exactly where he’s supposed to be. Lee, congrats on a fantastic first year at Old Vinings Inn. We can’t wait to see what the terrific twos bring!

Bantam + Biddy Celebrates First Anniversary with Fall Festival on October 13

We love farm-to-table restaurants, but we just found the next big thing: farm-to-festival! Aqua blue Celebrates 12th Anniversary with Party on August 21

The 12 year anniversary celebration at Aqua blue in Roswell kicks into high gear on Wednesday, August 21, with a party and a special three-course menu priced at $20.01 per person to commemorate the 2001 opening. Congrats to Chicken and the Egg! This delicious Marietta restaurant opened in August 2011 and is now celebrating its anniversary month with a variety of specials and contests to thank guests for their support throughout the eatery’s first year.

Feeling lucky? The restaurant will hand out golden eggs containing different prizes to each table Monday, August 13 through Thursday, August 16. The prizes range from complimentary beverages to a dinner for two!
