Article 14 Raises a Glass to Prohibition Repeal Day on December 5
Not pulling your bootleg, Prohibition was repealed on December 5, 1933, meaning after 13 years of Prohibition, Americans enjoyed the right to legally raise a glass of cheer for the holidays. The date became known as Repeal Day, a day to applaud the laws that guarantee our rights as Americans. That's reason enough for Article 14 in Midtown to offer celebratory specials on Friday, December 5, including an old-fashioned cocktail ($12), Waldorf salad ($10), and an entrée of filet en croute bouquetiere de legumes with Madeira sauce (served old school on a silver platter for $29). Celebrate this freedom, because you can!

Welcome to Buckhead, The Southern Gentleman!
The welcome mat is out in Buckhead Atlanta for The Southern Gentleman, the latest restaurant from Southern Proper Hospitality, located at 3035 Peachtree Road, NE. Opening today, December 2, this gastropub speaks "y'all" with leanings toward the lighter, more modern side of Southern food versus the cliché of fried everything. Executive chef Randy Lewis draws upon seafood from Southern coasts, local farmers, veggie-heavy dishes and playful flavors and turns out new gastropub traditions.
The Southern Gentleman sports crisp seersucker at the windows, tufted camel leather booths, herringbone wood floors, marble counters, vintage plateware and 25-foot-high ceilings. Co-owner Chris Hadermann sums up The Southern Gentleman as "that place you take your friends from, say, New York, to show them what it means to live in the South or in Atlanta these days--a warm, welcoming extension of our homes...showcasing who we really are in the South." Reservations can be made online through OpenTable.
