Orpheus Brewing Releases Lyric Ale, a Flagship Beer for All Seasons



Orpheus Brewing has released its second year-round beer. Lyric Ale is a hoppy dry saison with a combination of peach and citrus flavors. Orpheus founder and brewmaster Jason Pellett shares that hops from three continents contribute to the harmonic balance of fruit and spice in this brew that pairs confidently with everything from cheese and barbecue to fruit desserts. Be on the lookout for cans of Lyric Ale in stores soon -- it's labeled with Peter Ferrari artwork. For now, you can try out the newest ale by draft in area restaurants or by visiting the Orpheus Brewing tasting room.

Frame Your Piedmont Park Arts Fest Outing with Food and Drink at 10th & Piedmont, G’s Midtown and HOBNOB, August 16-17


If you’re looking for painting, photography, sculpture, leather or metal work, blown glass, jewelry or anything handcrafted, the Piedmont Park Arts Festival is where you’ll want to be. Over the weekend of August 16-17, more than 250 artists will be in Atlanta’s largest park from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday. Grab a bite to eat beforehand or go for dinner and drinks afterwards at G’s Midtown, HOBNOB and 10th & Piedmont. Brunch at G’s Midtown starts on Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. or catch dinner beginning at 5 p.m. HOBNOB serves brunch from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday and dinner starting at 5 p.m. Let the fun begin!

Sing Along with Schlager at Der Biergarten’s 6th Annual Schlager Party on August 16



German pop-culture tunes from the 60s and 70s will be taking over at the Der Biergarten Schlager Party on Saturday, August 16 from 7 p.m. until midnight. The fun doesn’t stop there. Drink up beer specials of Krombacher pilsner and Weihenstephaner hefeweissbier prices at $9 per liter and break out the lederhosen and knee socks for the costume contest. The Willy’s Mexicana Grill North Druid Hills location grand-opening fiesta is on Thursday, August 14. From 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and again from 5-7 p.m., burrito lovers can try samples of Willy's specialties, spin the prize wheel and put their names in for raffle prizes. Almost every Willy’s order begins with a tortilla that’s made with freshly prepared dough mixed throughout the day and the restaurant makes salsa and guac fresh each day. G’s Midtown Burgers & Beaujolais Confirms It’s the Summer of the Burger, August 13-26


Beginning Wednesday, August 13 through Tuesday, August 26, G’s Midtown will serve a special Burgers & Beaujolais pairing menu. Couplings include a double bacon cheeseburger sporting cheddar and applewood smoked bacon paired with Chateau des Capitans; lamb burger with arugula, tomato, mint and cucumber yogurt, feta cheese and red onion paired with Georges Duboeuf Brouilly; salmon burger loaded with lettuce, pickled red onions, caper aioli and tomato served with Georges Duboeuf Villages; turkey burger topped with caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato and chipotle mayo paired with Georges Duboeuf Chiroubles; and a vegetarian garden burger with spinach, tomato, cucumber and jalapeƱo mayo accompanied by Georges Duboeuf Fleurie. Burgers range in price from $10-$12 each and Beaujolais complements are priced from $9-$13 per glass.

James Beard Finalist and Nashville City House Chef Tandy Wilson is Gunshow Hired Guns Guest on August 12-13


It's that time again! This month's Hired Guns guest chef is Tandy Wilson of City House in Nashville. On Tuesday, August 12 and Wednesday, August 13, Wilson will serve up stuffed mozzarella bruchetta, zucchini, garlic garum and lemon; crispy pork meatballs, peach jezebel, mint, red onion, chilies and grit crumbs; and baked ricotta, blueberries and preserves and cinnamon toast. This talented chef grew up to pad his degree in hotel restaurant administration with studies at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute, time at world-famous Tra Vigne restaurant in St. Helena, Calif. and a few years in Italy learning about regional Italian cooking before opening City House in 2007.
