Whole Foods
Market is known for its do-gooder attitude, and by Monday, March 31, the Whole Planet Foundation, the
company’s private non-profit organization, hopes to raise $7 million through
its Prosperity
Campaign. Each dollar amount donated goes toward microloans to help people
start businesses, rise out of poverty and create better lives for their
families. The Whole Planet Foundation already helps to alleviate poverty
through microloans in areas where Whole Foods Market sources products, and now
they have partnered with Grameen America
to commit to $5 million to similar programs here in the U.S. In this instance,
the money will go toward helping women in this country to break free of
poverty. Become involved by donating $1, $25, $250 or other “good cents”
amounts at Whole Foods Market checkouts, fundraisers and online.
