What’s New on Pinterest: Magnificent Margaritas
Magnificent Margaritas handle every occasion. Blackberry champagne margaritas toast with ease. A strawberry basil batch uses up the last of summer’s fragrant herb. Brewsters and cocktailers come together over tailgating beer margaritas. Soothe prickly situations with a prickly pineapple concoction. Blood orange screams Halloween boo-zing. Leave it to Paula Deen to turn this cocktail into a strawberry mousse dessert all ages can enjoy (read tequila-free). Unplug the watermelon and you can whirl up watermelon margaritas. And, there’s always a place at the table for classic lime margaritas, with chips or solo.

Raise a Glass to National Margarita Day on February 22
Restricting your margarita intake to the summer months is like denying yourself a tropical vacation when you need it most. That's why National Margarita Day
falls on Saturday, February 22. Looking for the right place to celebrate? Tin
Lizzy’s Cantina serves seven house margaritas, from skinny to “Fall Off the House”
strong, as well as five specialty blends -- watermelon basil, pomegranate
cilantro, Mexi-mule, Texas or the Thai with 1800 Coconut tequila. Simply Buckhead magazine (May/June 2013) picked the
St. Rita at Hearth
Pizza Tavern as the
epitome of summer in a glass. St. Rita wears tequila blanco, St. Germain and
fresh lime juice. By the way, Hearth Pizza Tavern serves up the St. Rita and
other margaritas for $5 each on Thursdays, adding another day of margarita
mania to your week! A margarita bonbon from Chocolate South’s Cocktail Hour Collection works
inside the box and out. This lime ganache treat, complete with margarita Himalayan salt, has all of the fabulous flavors of a margarita without the glass. Chocolates and cocktails all in one bite? That's a pairing we can get behind!

Uncle Julio's is the Place to Celebrate National Tequila Day on July 24
This Friday, July 24, is National Tequila Day, and Uncle Julio's Casa Grande serves up 15 types of tequila and several different margaritas to help you celebrate. Among the restaurant's 14 locations nationwide, about 200,000 margaritas and tequila drinks are prepared each month. While purists can head for the straight tequilas, those fond of frozen varieties will want to try the signature Swirl (classic frozen margarita layered with homemade frozen sangria); the Baja Gold (margarita and Corona) or other classics such as the strawberry or passion fruit margaritas. Uncle Julio’s managers attend tequila training in Mexico each fall, bringing home novel tequila ideas such as using it as a marinade in Uncle Julio’s chipotle borracho shrimp. Click here for the full recipe if you are celebrating at home.
Uncle Julio’s Casa Grande: 1860 Peachtree Road, NW: 404-350-6767.
