The Federal Locks into Atlanta Magazine “Best New Restaurant” List

Atlanta magazine’s 2017 list of “Best New Restaurants” is out, and The Federal lands smack dab in the center of the short list. Midtown’s European brasserie offers a respite from the concrete and chrome corporate jungle to a place where antique mirrors and tufted leather banquettes encourage lingering and savoring the morning-to-night menu and hand-cut steaks cooked in cast iron. Chef/owners Shaun Doty and Lance Gummere are longtime friends and collaborators who both hail from Stillwater, Oklahoma. Pork schnitzel, pounded thin and fried, is joined by marinated onions, peanuts and Italian parsley and is a “must-order” at this “all-around excellent expression of a bistro in a part of town that needs it.”
