Smokebelly doors
officially open on Thursday, May 22, but Instagram glimpses this joint venture
by the creators of Tin Lizzy’s Cantina, The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill, Pool
Hall and The Fur Bus. Take a look at instagram.com/smokebellybbq.

When anyone asks Smokebelly
executive chef Darrell Rice what he’s been smoking, he lays out a litany:
pulled pork, sliced brisket, sliced turkey breast, sausage, baby back ribs and
a rotation of specialty cuts like pork belly, leg of lamb, beef cheeks, smoked
alligator and other wild game that are all within this dry-rub guru’s spectrum.
Tantalizing smells and flavors are generated by low-heat smoking methods when
Smokebelly, which is brought to you by the team behind The Big Ketch Saltwater
Grill, Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails and Tin Lizzy’s Cantina and Trey
Humphreys (the Fur Bus, A Social Mess and the Pool Hall), officially opens in Buckhead at 128 East Andrews Drive
on Wednesday, May 21. Stalkers of smoky goodness can add fresh fish, vegetarian
fare and “skinny fixins” like watermelon smoked feta salad and barbecue lettuce
wraps to their repertoire. Smokebelly’s menu lays out upwards of 10 house-made
sides plus Southern-rooted snacks, barbecue tapas, appetizers, sandwiches and
salads. The bar has 20 craft beers on tap, artisanal liquors and handmade craft
cocktails. Smokebelly’s own house band rocks on cue and welcomes other
musicians to join in. A vintage feel extends through the dining room, bar and
patio where guests can enjoy lunch and dinner daily. Guests also can spread out
on “The Lawn,” a 1,500-square-foot patio with faux grass that seats an additional 160.

The Mall of Georgia is already one of the premier shopping destinations in the country, but it's about to get a whole lot hotter when Tin Lizzy's Cantina opens its sixth location on Friday, November 15. Tin Lizzy's is bringing its menu of gourmet soft tacos, dips, fresh salads, hot skillets and an extensive list of margaritas, cocktails and beers to OTP fans in a 7,442 square-foot location complete with an outdoor patio. Since they'll be open daily for lunch, dinner and late-night dining, it's going to be the perfect spot to refuel during those marathon holiday shopping sessions.
Lance Gummere and Shaun Doty's new restaurant, Chick-a-Biddy, left guests with much to cluck about. The grand opening in Atlantic Station was upbeat, delicious and featured farm-fresh menu items from executive chef Scott Weaver. Wood-grilled piri piri chicken, plantain chips with roasted tomato dip and the black bean quinoa burger were just a few of the innovative plates that were served with comforting sides and refreshing juices. The sign outside the door says it all - spread those wings and fly on over!
Old Vinings Inn's social hot spot, the Attic Bar, is set to reopen on Thursday, July 19. The outdoor private patio, live music and full service bar have made the Attic Bar a popular spot for years. Stop by to celebrate (and ogle) the new renovations with complimentary appetizers from 5-7 p.m. while rocking out to live music from Kurt Thomas. Come thirsty, hungry and prepared for a night of excitement - the Attic Bar is back and better than ever!
What fun for Atlantic
Station-goers looking for farm-fresh chicken served up
in an energetic modern diner! Shaun Doty and Lance Gummere, co-owners of Bantam + Biddy in Ansley Mall, open Chick-a-Biddy on Thursday, July 11 in the space that formerly housed
The Grape. The healthy menu is full of chicken
dishes, simple sides and cocktails to cackle about. And this just scratches the
surface. Read more about it on our Chick-a-Biddy Atlanta Dish blog post.
