UGA Bulldog 100 Taps Will Harris and White Oak Pastures as 2014 Honoree

Go Dawgs! Or, go pastured poultry and grass-fed beef and lamb, as is the case for fourth-generation cattleman Will Harris and White Oak Pastures in Bluffton, Ga. White Oak Pastures is one of this year's "Bulldog 100," an honor The University of Georgia (UGA) Alumni Association awards annually to the 100 fastest-growing businesses owned or operated by UGA alumni. Harris, a 1976 graduate of the UGA School of Agriculture, took his sheepskin back to the farm his great-grandfather settled in 1866. In 1995, he switched gears, shifting from industrial farming methods to those followed by great-grandfather Harris. The rest is history as cattleman and farm are frequently recognized for their commitment to humane animal husbandry, environmental sustainability and locally produced food. Additionally, Harris is the beef director of the American Grassfed Association and the past president of the board of directors for Georgia Organics.
