Sparkling wines and fine chocolates pair well, especially
when the chocolates are artisanal and handmade at Chocolate South. The Mercantile in Candler Park
called upon Chocolate South to provide chocolate samples to complement their Bubblypalooza Champagne
tasting this Saturday, April 26 from 12-3 p.m. The Mercantile is located at the
corner of DeKalb Avenue and Clifton Road.

On Saturday, April
19, Chocolate South
cruises north from its Westside turf up to Williams-Sonoma in
Alpharetta’s North Point Mall. Amy Stankus, the bonbon boutique’s owner and chief
chocolatier, will show shoppers how to stir up silky smooth ganache, and she’ll
offer samples to taste. Because her artisanal chocolates are instantly
addicting, she’ll also have chocolates for sale in the store. Just
Add Honey Tea Company
in Tucker will be nearby making tea to go with Amy’s ganache. The Chocolate
South shop will be open Saturday as usual for in-town chocolate fixes.

Chocolate South is Nuts about Pecan Day
![]() |
| Georgia Loggerhead Turtles at Chocolate South |
In
a nutshell, this buttery nut comes from the only nut tree native to North
America, which deems it worthy of recognition on Pecan Day, March 25. On the
local front, Georgia
is the top pecan-producing state in the nation! Chocolate South pays homage to
this noblest of nuts in three confections: Richland rum ball combines local
pecans, rum and cookies ($3); Georgia Loggerhead Turtle sports pecan legs ($4);
the classic bourbon ball blends pecans, bourbon and locally made cookies ($3);
and the cherry cashew pecan bar incorporates dried fruit and nuts in a solid
chocolate bar ($7).
