Tin Lizzy’s Sends Out August All Call for Taco Recipes in 7th Annual Taco Contest

Heard you’ve been keeping a super taco recipe under wraps. Time for the big reveal. Tin Lizzy’s Cantina is holding its seventh annual Taco Contest August 1-31. This year, they’re picking 12 winning tacos -- one for each of the FlexMex taqueria locations in Georgia and South Carolina. Submit recipes online and align with a specific Tin Lizzy’s location for the competition. The Tin Lizzy’s team of amigos will choose one winning taco recipe at each of the 12 locations, and that tasty taco will occupy the menu until next year’s contest rolls around. Fittingly, Tin Lizzy’s will announce the lucky dozen on National Taco Day (October 4). Each restaurant -- Buckhead, Grant Park, Midtown, Perimeter, Emory Point, Mall of Georgia, Kennesaw, Duluth, downtown Atlanta and Augusta, as well as Tin Lizzy’s South Carolina locations in Columbia and Greenville -- will host a release party featuring its winning taco, available at that location only. Each winning chef also receives a $500 Tin Lizzy’s gold card.

Caught you playing with your tacos again. Using that tortilla as a blank plate to capture Sriracha'ed shrimp and pineapple slaw, barbecued bison or roasted cauliflower and calamari. Now that's flexing your Mex-ination! Don't be taco shell-fish. Enter your "A" game ideas in the sixth-annual taco contest now underway at all eight metro-Atlanta Tin Lizzy's Cantina locations. Tin Lizzy's fans rave about this yearly opportunity to share their taco-coctions. Through February 27, customers can visit any Tin Lizzy's location and submit their creations online. By scanning the QR code on a Tin Lizzy's server's nametag, participants will be directed to the entry page. On February 28, Tin Lizzy's will select four finalists' tacos to debut on the March menu. The grand prize winner receives $500 cash and may even have his or her taco featured on the next menu. Second place wins $300 cash, third place takes home $150 cash and fourth place will be awarded a $75 Tin Lizzy's gift card.  Last year's winning taco, the Steak Out, corralled steak, crispy onions, lettuce and blue cheese crumbles drizzled with garlic aioli. Other winners have included the Southern Comfort taco and Big John's Low Country Boil taco.

The more creative the better! Finalists are added to the March menu, and the top seller wins $500, a chance to see his or her taco on the menu and 10 VIP passes to Tin Lizzy's Cinco de Mayo party. Flex your Mex muscle and imagine your own tempting taco creations to submit in their 5th annual taco contest. Tin Lizzy's locations will have notepads handy so guests can jot down their creation ideas when they have t-Ah-Ha-co moments. Rawesome taco? Ragin' Cajun? Eenie Beanie Miney Moe? Finalists' tacos will be included on the menu in March. Top seller wins first place - $500, their taco on the menu and 10 VIP passes to the restaurant's Cinco de Mayo party. Second and third place winners will each receive a $250 Tin Lizzy's gift card. One thing's certain, if you're hankering to win, it's nacho taco unless you enter! (You can never have enough cheese.)
