The Mill Kitchen & Bar joins Rockin' Roswell for a Terrapin Beer and BBQ Dinner

The The Mill Kitchen & Bar is joining the third annual Rockin' Roswell for a CURE and is hosting a "Light the Night" Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) fundraiser on Thursday, June 11. Terrapin beer, Vixen Vodka cocktails and a "Picnic BBQ" dinner made by the Mill's executive chef Benjamin Castro is sure to keep the night bright while raising money for blood cancer research. There will be plenty of variety to keep things exciting with four terrapin beers and a three-course meal. Twenty percent of all sales and 100 percent of all Vixen Vodka sales will benefit LLS, so party on while giving to charity. Clear Channel Broadcasting will be on the patio to keep the night rockin'!

Sign Up for a Wheel Adventure and Join Warren Bruno Memorial Ride Through In-Town Neighborhoods on June 2

Grab your bike, bring your friends, and get ready for the Warren Bruno Memorial Ride on Sunday, June 2 to kick off Virginia Highland Summerfest. Warren Bruno, founder of Virginia-Highland Summerfest, passed away recently after a long battle with cancer. Bruno was not only an avid cyclist, but also the owner of Ormsby's and Atkins Park Restaurant & Bar. What better way to celebrate his life than with a bike ride through Virginia Highland! Donations will be given to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and water and food will be provided along the route. 

Charitable Cocktails Keep on Giving at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Kaleidoscope Bistro & Pub

 

During October, every last drop of the sales of “Sweet Charity” cocktails at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar goes to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The elegant new Cocktail for a Cause combines Lillet Rose-infused wine, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur and soda water served over ice in a wine glass with a raspberry garnish. You’ll find the cocktail on Fleming’s “5 for $6 ‘til 7” bar menu and available after 7 p.m. for $9.95. 

In Brookhaven, Kaleidoscope Bistro & Pub is mixing up three cocktails to go toward Breast Cancer Awareness. At month’s end, The Susan G. Komen Foundation will receive a portion of the proceeds from the sales of  “Walk for Linda” combining Campari, Maestro Dobel Tequila, limoncello, grapefruit, lemon and elderflower syrup ($9); “Breast Cancer Awareness Pisco Punch” with house-infused strawberry and raspberry pisco, fresh lime, pineapple and agave nectar ($8.50); and “ILBT” mixing Bols Genever, mint syrup, fresh lemon, hibiscus liquor and Belgian triple ale ($10).

Help Kaleidoscope Crawl for a Cure on April 25

Don't run, crawl for a cure this Wednesday in Brookhaven. Cocktails 4 A Cause presents a night of drink and food specials, live music and much-coveted raffle items at the 2nd Annual Dresden Crawl for a Cure on Wednesday, April 25. All event proceeds go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and its work to fight blood cancers and to help patients and their families. The starting point is Haven, where registration takes place from 5:30 - 8 p.m. Guests set off for Valenza, Verde Taqueria, POUR Bistro and Library Coffee Company, then wind up at Kaleidoscope for the after-crawl party. $20 donation at the door. Get Your Groove on at Fadó's "Ladies '80s" Party for Team in Training on August 27th

Get decked out in your best '80s attire and head over to Fadó Irish Pub & Restaurant on Saturday, August 27 for this month's "Ladies '80s" party. Not only do you get an excuse to throw on a rockin’ '80s ensemble, but you’ll also be benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training triathlon team by attending. This totally '80s fundraising party starts at 7 p.m. with tunes from the likes of Madonna and Michael Jackson blasting all night and classic '80s cocktails like Long Island Iced Tea, Mai Tai and Blue Hawaiian priced at just $5 for the ladies. The $20 entry fee will score you two draft beer tickets and a happy hour buffet. Take a break from doing your ‘80s thang on the dance floor to partake in the 50/50 cash raffle and a silent auction. Keep Warren Bruno Riding Healthy

If you've ever participated in a walk, run or biking fundraiser that takes you to your limit for three days, two days or straight up a mountainside, you know the challenge of keeping your eyes focused down the road. You bear the blisters and cramps, pressing on toward the goal of finding a cure and helping those who battle life-threatening diseases. And that's you, healthy, on a good day. Imagine the challenge of someone like Warren Bruno, owner of Ormsby's and Atkins Park Tavern in Virginia Highland and Smyrna. Bruno has battled non-Hodgkin lymphoma for seven years; yet, he continues to step up to the challenge of pushing himself to reach the goal and encouraging others to come along with him, financially if not physically. Ride With Santa This Wednesday at the 4th Annual Atkins Santa Ride

Don’t miss your chance to support a great cause and have some holiday fun this week at the 4th Annual Atkins Santa Ride. On Wednesday, December 15, several Santas and Mrs. Clauses will ride their bikes from Atkins Park Tavern - Virginia Highland to Ormsby’s on Atlanta’s Westside -- and back to “go.” It’s an easy 10 to 15 miles tops. Ormsby’s and Atkins Park’s Owner Warren Bruno started this annual holiday-themed biking event four years ago to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Last year, 40 riders were decked out with trees, lights and tinsel! The miles will seem short as you stop and socialize with other Santa riders along the way…hot cider giving way to Jagermeister and dinner. So, strap some lights on the front and back of your bike and head out! Jingling bells are always a nice touch. Meet in the rear parking lot of Atkins Park – Virginia Highland at 6 p.m.

Bar Hop for a Good Cause!

Looking for things to fill up your long weekend? At the very least, you can fill up your glass to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on Saturday, May 29, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Atlanta Classics Bar Tour. Guests can gallivant through Virginia-Highland's oldest bars -- Atkins Park Tavern (originally a 1922 deli; tavern in 1983), George's Restaurant and Bar (1961), Limerick Junction Irish Pub (1988), Manuel's Tavern (1956) and Moe's & Joe's Tavern (1947) -- to get discounted adult beverages and menu specials priced the same as they were back in the 1960s. Tickets are $10 per person in advance and $20 at the door and include admission, a Classic Bar Tour mug, t-shirt and drink refills at a discounted price at participating bars.

Race Across America Sunday

Warren Bruno makes everything fun! This year he is the co-crew chief for the Georgia Chain Gang - a group of cyclists raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This Sunday the group cycles from Atkins Park in the Highlands to Atkins Park in Smyrna and back. Oh yeah, and they'll stop by Ormsby's too. Trust me when I say this ride will be fun, and delicious.

The ride starts at 8:30 on May 16 and costs $30 per person. A great event for a great cause!
