School busses and bells ring in the start of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, reminding us that feeding tummies goes a long way to nourishing young minds.Aqua blue in Roswell and Marlow’s Tavern locations are on the bus, joining restaurants nationwide in the Dine Out for No Kid Hungry annual September fundraising event. Hop aboard by dining at Aqua blue or your favorite Marlow’s Tavern location. During September, any guest making a donation to the cause will receive a $5 coupon to use on an upcoming visit between October 1-December 31, 2015. Think about it. According to Share Our Strength, one dollar helps feed a child 10 meals, and breakfast in the classroom sustains focus on schoolwork instead of hunger pangs.

Still Time to Join Us for the Hunger Walk!

Walk toward a solution for hunger, not away from it. Hunger Walk 2010 begins and ends at Turner Field on Sunday, March 14. You don't have to go it alone, enjoy the pre-spring afternoon walking with Team mmmmmmmMLA. Sure, we'll talk food -- as in how exciting it is to know that by hoofing it, we're being part of a community solution to put food on the plates and in the pantries of metro-area residents experiencing really tough times. Hunger Walk 2010 activities begin at noon so you can still sleep in/read the paper/church/brunch. Already committed that day? Send an online donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank instead!
We're meeting at the Fifth Group tent at 1 p.m.!

Eat On $30

Ever thought about the amount of money you spend on food in any given day? Atlanta bloggers are thinking about it! Some of our favorite bloggers, Tami from Running With Tweezers and Jimmy from Eat It, Atlanta, have taken the challenge of eating on the tight budget of $30 for the week.

Some of us may see $30 as negligible, and I know I've spent way more than that on a single dinner. Yet, $30 is a luxury to hundreds of people all over the world who have nothing to eat each day. Tami, Jimmy and everyone partaking is raising awareness as well as creating delicious ways to watch the wallet and still savor meals. A list of all the bloggers participating can be found on Tami's blog. Be sure to follow and gain some wise tips!
