The Truck Stops Here: Bar Meatball and More at Atlanta Street Food Festival in Piedmont Park on July 12

More than 40 food trucks, local artisans, a family fun zone and musical entertainment by live bands and DJs will gather at Piedmont Park for the Atlanta Street Food Festival from noon until 8 p.m. on July 12. Make a beeline to the Bar Meatball food truck and order classic meatballs with sauce, meatball sliders with fries and Italian-American pasta topped with meatballs. Combo plates are $7 and single sliders are $3 each. Sauce options include classic tomato, arugula walnut pesto, fredo or mushroom gravy. Cool off from the heat with made-to-order ice cream sandwiches ($5) or the signature Zeppole Joey’s “bag o donuts” with Nutella ($3). The event is free, but a wristband is required to buy food from the food trucks and to buy beer. Purchase your wristband ($10.50 each or 4 for $25) online before Saturday and receive $1 off each menu item over $6 at each truck. Have Wheels, Will Travel: Bar Meatball Food Truck Revs Up Sidney Marcus Park Concert on June 20

Bar Meatball is shifting their gears and revving out of their Virginia-Highland home. Visit the Bar Meatball food truck at the Morningside Phamily Jam concert at Sidney Marcus Park on Friday, June 20 from 6-8 p.m. Dig into classic meatballs with sauce, meatball sliders with fries and Italian-American pasta topped with meatballs. All combo plates are $7. Made-to-order ice cream sandwiches will also be available. Enjoy a house-made chocolate chip and spumoni ice cream ($5) or the signature Zeppole Joey’s “bag o donuts” with Nutella ($3).

Bar Meatball is on a roll in the restaurant’s new subway-tile look food truck, popping up at festivals and food truck hot spots around the ATL. The truck does double duty to crank out some mean ice cream sandwiches. Pick your sides: chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter or double chocolate. For the middle, choose vanilla, peanut butter chip, chocolate or spumoni ice cream. Destined to be summer’s smash hit at $5 each.

Bar Meatball has been quietly meeting the neighbors in its Virginia-Highland home over the past few weeks, and now the Italian eatery is rolling out a week of grand-opening specials. Monday, May 12 is free slider night. On Neighbor Night, Tuesday, May 13, 10 percent of the evening’s proceeds will go to the Morningside Lenox Park Association. Ten dollars buys a bottle of Vitiano sangiovese cabernet blend or Banfi Le Rime pinot grigio on Wednesday, May 14. Savor sangria and a slider for $6 on Thursday, May 15. Friday brings free zeppole (you know, those irresistible Italian donuts dusted with powdered sugar)! Kids under 12 years old eat free from noon-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 17. Stop by and see why Bar Meatball’s old-school traditions and flavors shine. For one thing, the place draws on family recipes, high quality ingredients, meats ground in-house daily and sourced locally whenever possible.
