Twist & Shout!! Chef Ron Eyester’s American Bandstand Dinner Series - Volume I on 3/22

Food 101 executive chef Ron Eyester dances from farm-to-table-to-bandstand to spin out Volume 1 of “American Bandstand: A Dinner Series” on Thursday, March 22. Nine iconic American musicians provide the inspiration for each dish served on the coursed menu. At 7 p.m., a passed hors d’oeuvre cocktail reception opens the star-studded queue with Elvis Presley/”Love Me Tender” sliced steak crostini; Frank Sinatra/”I Did It My Way” NYC street pretzel with sorghum butter and Bob Dylan/”Country Pie” smoked bacon and braised mushroom hand pies. Catching the beat and ready to eat? Sit down to the plated dinner of Aretha Franklin/”Soulville” black-eyed pea and ham bone risotto; Johnny Cash/”Ring of Fire” spicy Block Island squid salad; Bruce Springsteen/”Secret Garden” early spring strawberries with local arugula, shaved fennel and whipped feta; Aerosmith/”Eat Rich” lobster pot pie; R.E.M./”King of Birds” fried chicken and grits with sorghum-sesame glaze and Lady Gaga/”Jewels N’ Drugs” vanilla-scented Johnny cakes with green tomato marmalade and spiced pecan honey. Buy tickets to the Sandy Springs dinner event for $75 per person (plus small service fee) through CulinaryLocal.com. Go ahead and wear those blue suede shoes or dress like the man in black. Know you want to.
