Bantam + Biddy Teams Up with Wild Heaven for Craft Beer Dinner on June 5

The average commute distance for Metro Atlantans is 35 miles, so the mere 10 miles separating Wild Heaven Craft Beer brewery in Decatur from Bantam + Biddy in Midtown's Ansley Mall means they're practically neighbors. Luckily for us, we're invited to their next neighborhood get together with a four-course beer dinner on Wednesday, June 5. Bantam + Biddy Co-owner/Chef Lance Gummere does the menu planning and Wild Heaven's brewmaster, Eric Johnson, will be there to talk about their European-style beers and plans for the brewery. The hors d'oeuvre make an appearance at 6:30 p.m. followed by the 7 p.m. dinner featuring wild salmon carpaccio with IPA mustard, dill and rye paired with Let There Be Light (American ale with a citrus note); spiced duck salad with candied pecans and strawberry and peppercorn vinaigrette paired with Eschaton (Belgian strong dark ale with dark fruit and pit fruit flavors as well as earthy spiciness); rotisserie rib-eye with horseradish, watercress and brioche paired with Invocation (Belgian-style golden ale with a semi-dry finish and lingering tropical fruit and spicy notes); and bread pudding with chocolate, pralines and cherry compote paired with Ode to Mercy (Imperial brown ale with a combination of deep-roasted malts, coffee, oak and a smooth, creamy finish). $45 per person. Reservations required; call 404-907-3469.
