Enjoy holiday cheer from the open bar from 8-10 p.m. and hum along (there’ll be no hum-bugging) to holiday tunes from DJ Moon all night long. Could be your lucky night to take home a raffle prize from this Virginia-Highland pub.

$1 Sundays are Just the Beginning at Hand in Hand

While you’re relaxing on Sunday afternoon over $1 PBR drafts, $1 fish tacos or a $5 trio of chicken, fish or pork tacos at Hand in Hand, look ahead and make note of these daily specials. All food is half off regular menu prices on Mondays. Tuesdays, burgers are $2 each. Wednesday’s $2 hot dogs are too good to pass up and fuel brains for 8:30 p.m. team trivia. DJ Jeremy Moon is happy to throw guest-provided records into his mix when he spins vinyl on Thursdays from 8 p.m. until closing. Fridays are jolly good days for $7 fish and chips.  

Ham It Up at Hand in Hand Pig Roast

Trot over to Virginia-Highland and Hand in Hand for the neighborhood pub’s fifth annual Pig Roast on Saturday, October 22. Enjoy live music from local band Bluegrass Flash Mob while devouring plates of pulled pork and refreshing peach bourbon lemonades. Party starts at 4 p.m. Hand in Hand is located at 752 North Highland Avenue. 

Pop into Hand in Hand in Va-Hi for Fried Chicken Pop-Up after Atlanta Streets Alive September 25

Atlanta Streets Alive closes streets to motorized vehicles and connects the city’s eastside neighborhoods (Virginia-Highland, Poncey Highland, Old Fourth Ward and Inman Park) for a pedestrian-friendly afternoon from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, September 25. Afterward, stroll over to Hand in Hand at 752 North Highland Avenue for a fried chicken pop-up starting at 7 p.m. There’ll be no dilly-dallying if you want to partake of the limited “pop-up” supply of fried chicken because when it’s gone, it’s gone. Go-withs include healthy and not-so-healthy sides plus specials on drinks that pair well with fried chicken. For the record, Hand in Hand also will offer its usual beer and taco specials until 6 pm, including a choice of three chicken, fish or pork tacos for $5. Live music from 7-10 p.m. by Cold Heart Canyon, readers pick for Creative Loafing’s Best Local Bluegrass Act.
