The new whiskey flight menu at Article 14distills the nuances down even further by curating a dozen flights featuring small batch bourbons, ryes and scotches, as well as one flight each of tequila and cognac for good measure. Flight prices vary from $15 for a Rosy Sampler of Four Roses Yellow Label, Small Batch and Single Barrel to $52 for 12-, 15- and 18-year Macallan with the option of adding 30-year Macallan for an additional $70. Additional groupings include Third Seat (bourbon), Great White Buffalo or Western Blend (rye), Orphan Barrels, Glenlivet, Dalmore, Islay Sampler or Malted in Japan (scotch) and After Dinner Noir of Cointreau Noir, Grand Marnier and Grand Marnier 150. Flights land at the Article 14 bar in Midtown. Take your seat, please.

Start Celebrating St. Pat's Early at Fadó - Enter To Win Passes To The Bushmills Whiskey Tasting

Fadó Irish Pub& Restaurant is known for having the best St. Patrick’s Day party in Atlanta. This year is no exception; the party will fill Fadó and spill out onto Peachtree starting in the pre-dawn hours on Saturday, March 17. The day will be packed with Super Saturday 6 Nations Rugby, Irish dancers, a U2 tribute band and lots more. Buy tickets in advance here.

Fadó is preparing for this unforgettable party by having several tasting events this week. Some of the “pre-gaming” events include a Guinness Black Lager and Foreign Extra Stout tasting that begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 9; Paddy Pickleback shots are $3 each starting at 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 10; and the Paddy's Day Irish Session is not to be missed at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 12.

If you're over 21, you're the perfect age to have fun at the upcoming spirit tastings at Fadó and to help fight childhood cancer in the process. On Tuesday, March 13, 92.9 davefm radio host Rich Sullivan will be at Fadó for a Bushmills Whiskey tasting beginning at 7 p.m. For $39.95 per person, guests will enjoy a tasting of five whiskeys and six dishes guided by Master of Whisky Kevin Mulcahy of Diageo, the world's leading premium spirits distributor. The food portion of the menu includes salmon bites, lamb and bleu cheese sliders, hot brie rarebit, rasher- and Irish cheddar-stuffed mushrooms and mini cheesecakes.  Twenty percent of the night's proceeds will go to the Atlanta chapter of St. Baldrick's Foundation, a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization that supports childhood cancer research. Only 75 people can attend this rooftop-level event so be sure to grab tickets here ASAP.

However, if you’re feeling the luck of the Irish, then we have a proposition for you – we are giving one person and a guest a chance to win passes to attend the Bushmills Whiskey Tasting. Uncharted Territories

Next Monday, March 22, Morton’s in Downtown Atlanta will be hosting a Glenlivet Scotch Tasting event from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Now, it is a bit of an understatement when I say I'm not really a Scotch drinker. I think I've probably had one sip in my entire life and I definitely didn't enjoy that sip enough to go after a second taste, but my husband is a HUGE Scotch lover so I dutifully agreed to attend. After I made our reservations though I got to thinking - last year I attended a bourbon tasting that Morton's Downtown hosted and I had the exact same attitude. I didn't like bourbon and I didn't think I ever would. Wow, did that tasting change my mind! Not only did I realize that I actually like bourbon, the Brown Derby is my cocktail of choice these days!

So, I've decided to enter these uncharted territories with an open mind this time around.
A Glenlivet Ambassador will be there to lead us through a proper Scotch tasting with four of The Glenlivet's critically acclaimed single malts. They will be paired with selections from Morton's classic hors d'oeuvres menu. Who knows, maybe this time next year I'll be sipping Scotch like a pro...

The cost for this event is $49 per person, which includes tax and gratuity. Space is limited so make your reservation early!
