Peaches and Pigs Take Over Downtown Atlanta during PeachFest Aug. 13

PeachFest, a hyper-local food fest, roots its way into downtown Atlanta this Sunday, Aug. 13 to promote the various varieties of peaches and heritage pigs raised responsibly by Georgia family farmers. More than 85 winemakers, distillers, chefs, food artisans, brewers, bartenders and farmers will educate and inspire guests with culinary experiences at the not-for-profit event. From 4-7 p.m., watch and learn as chefs create classic peach (and paleo) dishes and roast, smoke and grill heritage breed pork at the festival along Broad Street, NW and Poplar Street, NW. Of course you can eat and drink (it would be the pits not to). Sample peach-infused boozy punches, peach craft brews and premium wines. All-inclusive tickets start at $60 ($100 VIP ticket includes 3 p.m. entry and exclusive tasting of cellared wines). Can’t swing by? Donations hungrily appreciated. Proceeds from tickets and a silent auction support the growth of producers in Georgia and beyond through Piggy Bank. What a peachy way to celebrate National Peach Month!
