Umi Ranks #1 in Jezebel Magazine’s Top 100 Restaurants 2014

When Umi unites classic and modern Japanese flavors, they do more than just please taste buds – they receive accolades. According to Jezebel magazine, partner/chef Fuyuhiko Ito runs the “most happening resto in A-Town.” The Buckhead restaurant ranked number one in the luxury magazine’s “100 Best Restaurants 2014." The recognition kept coming as they claimed "Best Sushi" and "Best Celeb" sightings.

To Live and Dine

If you missed yesterday's Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival, don't be too hard on yourself. You did miss an amazing array of creative chefs and mixologist but tomorrow is another day and another fabulous event!
Tomorrow from 6:30 - 9 p.m., luxury magazines JEZEBEL and The Atlantan will host "To Live & Dine in Atlanta" at The Foundry at Puritan Mill. Spice Market, located in the W Atlanta-Midtown, will be there with tastings of the restaurant's globally inspired cuisine along with many of the city's best restaurants. On the drink side, look for cocktails by Remy Cointreau and Stella Artois as well as a Smartwater lounge. Factor in the live music and your tickets($25 online and $35 at the door) are a steal! Remember to bring non-perishable food items for the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Jezebel Magazine's Most Eligible Bachelors & Bachelorettes Party

Last night I attended Jezebel magazine's party to celebrate the magazine's "Most Eligible Bachelors & Bachelorettes". One of my friends, Carolyn Sloss (the one in purple in the photo), was selected as one of this year's bachelorettes. The party was held at the newly-opened Tongue & Groove in Lindbergh Center. There was a VIP reception from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with tasty appetizers provided by Aquaknox and tons of Michelob Ultra. When you first walk in the door, they asked everyone if they were "single" or "taken." If you were single, you were given a glowing yellow wristband, and if you were taken, you were given a glowing purple wristband. What a clever little idea to go along with the theme of the party! And, what an easy way to find out who was available in the crowd.

Vote in Jezebel Magazine's "Election" For Atlanta's Top 100 Restaurants

I like to exercise my right to vote, so much so that I cannot wait for the election in November to do so. Thanks to Jezebel I don't have to. The magazine is taking votes for the top 100 restaurants in Atlanta. Visit the site to cast your votes in the multi-category ballot including your top five restaurants followed by your favorite 10. Then move on to a category buffet where you can vote in traditional "best" categories such as Italian, vegetarian, sushi, happy hour, takeout and breakfast.

Hurry because May 20 is the last day to vote! After all the results are tallied you may find you're the winner of an Ultimate Getaway for Two. Your votes enter you into a drawing to win a two-night, three-day trip to the Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach, plus $200 in resort credit. Plane tickets for two included. If that isn't an incentive to visit Jezebel online then I don't know what is.
