Lace up your running shoes and pull on your lederhosen for the inaugural Oktoberfest 5K Run and Lederhosen 1K Fun Run on Saturday, October 10. Hosted by Der Biergarten and the German-American Cultural Foundation, this fun fall event aims to foster German-American relations and deliver a German cultural experience loaded with beer, bratwurst and fun. Pre- and post-race activities take place inside Der Biergarten. 5K starts off at 8 a.m. followed by the 1K Fun Run. Register online and use code PRETZEL for a $5 discount. All participants receive a T-shirt, post-race refreshments and certificate. VIP runners add on a post-race German buffet, beer stein and ticket for one beer. Proceeds benefit the German-American Cultural Foundation’s education programs.
