Backyard Barbecue & Brews Heightens Dogwood Festival Experience
April showers Atlanta with festivals and outdoor activities. The 79th Annual Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park, April 10-12, is one of the most diverse juried art shows in the nation -- and it’s free and open to the public for your oohing, aahing and shopping pleasure. Kick it up a notch and add on gastronomic privileges at the ticketed Backyard Barbecue & Brews VIP Experience Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. This scrumptious throwdown fills a spacious tent overlooking the bands rocking and jazzing on the Coca-Cola Main Stage. Backyard Barbecue & Brews VIP Experience guests enjoy barbecue and picnic fare from HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern, Tin Lizzy’s Cantina, Twin Smokers BBQ, Whole Foods Market and other popular Atlanta restaurants as well as local craft brews and wine sampling, a private seating area and restrooms, and fun activities such as corn hole. Platinum VIP tickets add in two full-size beer drink tickets (Corona, Corona Light, Modelo or Victoria), Dogwood logo pint glasses and a $50 discount on an Urban Explorers Epicurean membership. Buy your tickets ASAP. Saturday is already sold out except for a limited number of Platinum VIP tickets. Ticket prices are $30 beginning April 1 ($40 Platinum) and $35 ($50 Platinum) at the event, if available.
